Red and green iridescent beetle around 5-7mm long with a domed shape. Adult lays eggs on the basal leaves of the plant. Larvae hatch in spring, feed and then pupate in the soil. Found where ever St Johns wort grows. Beetle and larvae eat the flower heads and terminal buds of the plant preventing seeding and stunting growth. |
