(Also known as: sodium aluminosilicate; zeolite type A; aluminium sodium silicate; silicic acid, aluminium sodium salt) |
The following alerts are based on the data in the tables below. An absence of an alert does not imply the substance has no implications for human health, biodiversity or the environment but just that we do not have the data to form a judgement. These hazard alerts do not take account of usage patterns or exposure, thus do not represent risk.

Sodium aluminium silicate is commercially produced through a chemical reaction between sodium silicate and aluminium sulphate under controlled conditions. The process typically begins with the preparation of sodium silicate, which is made by fusing silica sand with sodium carbonate at high temperatures. This sodium silicate solution is then reacted with aluminium sulphate in aqueous form, resulting in the precipitation of sodium aluminium silicate. The reaction parameters, such as pH, temperature, and concentration, are carefully regulated to yield the desired form, whether amorphous or crystalline. The final product is filtered, washed, and dried to obtain a fine powder or granules. |
