Commercial production of Pseudomonas alloputida strain B2017 begins with the cultivation of the bacterium under sterile, controlled conditions, typically starting in small-scale flasks and scaling up to industrial bioreactors. The process ensures consistent growth and high cell viability, with careful monitoring of temperature, pH, and nutrient levels to optimize biomass yield. Once harvested, the bacterial culture is processed into a Technical Grade Active Ingredient, which involves concentrating and stabilising the cells, often through centrifugation, drying, or encapsulation, while preserving their biocontrol efficacy. |

Products based on fermentation processes rather than chemical synthesis, have a lower fossil fuel input in formulation and active ingredient creation, and have reduced downstream emissions due to biodegradability and minimal soil disruption, the life-cycle GHG emissions are expected to be low. Whilst hard and precise data are not available, broad estimates suggest that typically emissions are likely to be below 5 kg CO₂e/kg. |
