Pesticide properties data needed to calculate the Aggregated Total Applied Toxicity (ATAT)

The ATAT is calculated using pesticide properties data, specifically ecotoxicity endpoint values (e.g., LC₅₀, EC₅₀, NOEC, etc.) in the form of Regulatory Threshold Levels (RTLs) for pesticide active ingredients.

To ensure consistency, it is essential that the same RTL values are used by all countries to calculate their ATAT. A standard set of RTL values (for each active ingredient for each species group) have been derived from endpoints in the PPDB. These can be downloaded here:

These RTL values must be used to calculate the ATAT.

Future updates: The only updates to be issued will be for (i) the addition of new active substances (so these can be included in the ATAT); or (ii) in the event an error in the data is discovered that would significantly alter the outputs. Any changes will be listed in any future releases so end users can determine whether they need to recalculate or not.
